Angelika Szymańska, representing Poland, clinched the silver medal at the Judo World Championships in Abu Dhabi. Competing in the demanding -63 kg category, the 23-year-old athlete showcased her prowess throughout the tournament, though narrowly missing out on the gold in the final bout against her Dutch counterpart, Joanne van Lieshout.

Szymańska’s path to the final was marked by a series of impressive victories, where she asserted her dominance over formidable opponents with unwavering determination. Overcoming challenges with remarkable poise, she triumphed over Anriquelis Barrios of Colombia, Esmigul Kuyulova from Kazakhstan, Katharina Haecker representing Australia, and Slovenia’s Andreja Leski, consecutively.

However, it was in the highly anticipated final encounter with van Lieshout that Szymańska faced her toughest challenge.
