From November 14 to 18, the XXXV Baltic Way Mathematics Competition took place in Tartu, Estonia. This prestigious annual event gathers high school students from 11 Baltic nations to solve challenging mathematical problems. Poland’s team emerged victorious, earning 77 out of 100 points, surpassing Estonia (64 points) and Germany (57 points).
Exceptional Team Effort
The Polish team comprised Krzysztof Karwik, Jakub Pieczonka, Patryk Rosół, Tadeusz Rylski, and Szymon Urban. Guided by coaches Dominik Bysiewicz and Łukasz Orski, they tackled 20 complex problems collaboratively, highlighting their remarkable teamwork and problem-solving skills.
The Baltic Way is unique, focusing on group problem-solving rather than individual competition. Teams from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Saint Petersburg (Russia) participate. Each year, a different country hosts the competition, fostering regional cooperation through mathematics.
