One of our readers from the United Kingdom was unable to cast her vote in the presidential election today. Despite registering in advance, she was not listed on the electoral roll.
“I’m very upset because I went to vote, but my name wasn’t on the electoral register – although my husband’s was. The staff intervened, and we waited over half an hour for clarification from the embassy. At the same time, another Polish voter had the same issue but left in frustration. I decided to wait,” wrote a Polish woman living in West Bromwich.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Bożena (full name known to the editorial team) says her patience didn’t pay off. “Waiting didn’t help – the response we got was that I wasn’t registered. I was shocked! We always vote, we always register, and everything is fine – but now this?!”, she said, clearly distressed.
Mrs. Bożena believes that many others in the UK are experiencing similar issues that prevent them from voting.
