President Andrzej Duda: “There Are at Least Two Presidents in This Room – the Current One and the Future One”

“I deeply believe that in this room there are at least two presidents – the current one and the future one,” said President Andrzej Duda at CPAC Poland. He also addressed the intensifying attacks on Karol Nawrocki. “I firmly believe that Poles do not accept such behaviour, the boundless lies in the media and that this kind of treatment will have consequences in the upcoming presidential election, where they will choose freedom and integrity over cynicism and dirty tricks.”

Andrzej Duda was one of the speakers at the CPAC conference held Tuesday in Jasionka near Rzeszów. According to the President, the location has recently gained special significance for Polish-American relations. “This is a place where, until recently, soldiers of the United States Army were stationed, keeping watch over Poland, and keeping watch over what is happening in Ukraine,” he emphasized.

The President underlined that Poland is firmly and resolutely participating in support for Ukraine.

“Some say that the fact Ukraine survived its most difficult time was thanks to Poland (…) As neighbours, we stand with Ukraine. We have supported and continue to support it – that is our allied responsibility (…) I am grateful that, at this moment, the U.S. presence in Poland has been strengthened. Our alliance has been further sealed,”

he stated.

He also reminded the audience that thousands of American soldiers are currently stationed in the territory of the Republic of Poland. “I am pleased that we can confidently say that in recent years we have been cementing our alliance in various ways,” he said, adding:
“From the very beginning, I have done everything to strengthen ties with the United States. I consider it the duty of the Polish president.”

“I deeply believe that in this room there are at least two presidents – the current one and the future one,”

Andrzej Duda reiterated.

“Our guests from the U.S. do not need an explanation of what it means to be in the final stages of a presidential campaign, and what it means when a conservative, patriotic candidate is brutally, cruelly, even thuggishly attacked with numerous layered accusations. Unfortunately, this is also happening in Poland, but I strongly believe that, despite everything, it is precise because Poles reject such treatment, such behaviour, and the overwhelming falsehoods in the media, that it will have an impact on the upcoming presidential elections, where Poles will choose freedom and honesty, not cynicism and villainy.”

In President Duda’s opinion, the Podkarpackie region is a testament to how conservative governments can develop a country, as the region is flourishing. “It has been returned to people devoted to Polish tradition and the Fatherland, who carry love for their country in their hearts,” he stated.

He also emphasized that President Donald Trump knows and understands the issues of our part of Europe – its history and its painful chapters. “I believe that with him, our relations with the United States will continue to grow.”
