President Duda Issues Appeal to Citizens: “I Will Safeguard the Vote with You”

“I assure you that, as a voter and currently still the guardian of the continuity of state authority, I will watch over it together with you. I have the impression that someone is clearly unhappy with the choice recently made by the Polish people,” wrote the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, on social media.

They Want to Reverse the Election

The victory of Karol Nawrocki, a civic candidate, continues to irritate the December 13 Coalition. So much so that Roman Giertych has launched a campaign titled “prove irregularities.” All of this is aimed at preventing Nawrocki from actually becoming president.

The frustration within the ruling camp is clearly visible, but Poles who respect the principles of democracy—and thus the right to choose—are pushing back.

President Andrzej Duda is doing the same.

President’s Appeal to Poles

In his latest social media post, he referred to recent comments by Donald Tusk and made an appeal.

“Prime Minister Tusk declared during yesterday’s government meeting: “We must not disregard even a single vote.” I completely agree. That is precisely why I am warning my fellow citizens, paraphrasing an old statement by the Prime Minister: I advise you—watch your votes cast in the election very carefully!”

He added: “Today, a truly serious group is trying to tamper with the choice you have made.”

President Duda assured that he feels united with his compatriots.

“I assure you that, as a voter and currently still the guardian of the continuity of state authority, I will watch over it together with you. I have the impression that someone is clearly unhappy with the choice recently made by the Polish people.”
