President Karol Nawrocki at the March for Life: “It is a response to the demographic crisis” [PHOTOS]

President Karol Nawrocki joined this year’s March for Life. “This is a fundamental matter for the survival of our national community, and the hundreds, thousands of people in the heart of Warsaw show how important life and family are for Poland. That is why the President of Poland cannot be absent here today”, he said in an interview with a journalist from TV Republika.

The National March for Life is a nationwide demonstration in which participants express support for the protection of life, motherhood, a family model based on traditional values, and marriage defined as a union between a woman and a man. The event has an affirmative character – its aim is to highlight the importance of these values in social life – but it also constitutes a form of opposition to proposals such as abortion, euthanasia, certain models of sex education for children, or concepts such as gender ideology.

This year’s event, with media patronage from the Free Speech House outlets – TV Republika, the Niezalezna.pl portal, and “Gazeta Polska” – began at 12:30 p.m. at Castle Square in Warsaw. The slogan of the March for Life 2026 is “Faith and Fidelity 966-2026”, referring to the 1060th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland being commemorated this week.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m., President Karol Nawrocki joined the participants.

The President marches in the March for Life alongside Poles

In an interview with a TV Republika journalist, President Nawrocki stated that the March for Life is “a fundamental matter for the survival of our national community, and the hundreds, thousands of people in the heart of Warsaw show how important life and family are for Poland”.

“That is why the President of Poland cannot be absent here today. I thank the organizers, I thank the wonderful Poles, the wonderful families for being here. This is a very important event!” he added.

The President greeted the march participants and shook hands with some of them, offering greetings and thanks for their presence.

“It is a beautiful initiative that shows how evil can be overcome with good, with the smiles of Polish women, Polish men, Polish children, and Polish families. Values endure thanks to our wonderful families and thanks to the fact that we are here, where we should be – together. I support initiatives that serve Poland, and this initiative certainly serves Poland. It is also a response to the deep demographic crisis. Today, the answer to many of Poland’s problems lies in Polish families, in our identity, in remembering where we come from and where we are heading”, said President Nawrocki in response to questions from TV Republika.

“I am encouraged by another march and by these initiatives taking place across Poland”, he added.
