President Karol Nawrocki Will Not Back Down on Healthcare – Clear Declaration Made

President Karol Nawrocki declared in a letter to the organizers and participants of the 102nd National Pilgrimage of Healthcare Workers to Jasna Góra that he will use all available legal and political means to force those in power to resolve the crisis in public healthcare.

In the letter addressed to the pilgrimage participants, the president thanked healthcare workers for “their testimony of fidelity to Christian and Hippocratic ideals” and for their dedication to their professional calling.

He emphasized that working conditions and remuneration for all medical professionals are “a matter of great importance.” “The organization and financing of the healthcare system in Poland should serve as support, not a barrier, to carrying out this extremely responsible and indispensable work,” Nawrocki wrote.

He stressed that the real needs of patients and the high level of qualifications of Polish medical professionals should remain at the center of attention. “Situations in which, as a result of the inaction, incompetence, mismanagement, or corruption of those in power, savings are made at the expense of citizens’ health and lives, and the issue of generational replacement among doctors in certain specialties, nurses, and midwives is neglected, are unacceptable,” he assessed in the letter to the pilgrims.

The president declared that he will use “all available legal and political means to force those in power to resolve the current crisis in public healthcare.”
