President Nawrocki in Jasionka: “Since the beginning of the war, Poland has shouldered key responsibility”

“Over 95 percent of donations for Ukraine pass through Jasionka,” President Nawrocki emphasized during his visit to the Podkarpackie region. He noted that from the very beginning of the Russian aggression, Poland has carried a crucial responsibility for the security of the region, and that the Podkarpackie hub has become “a place without which it would be impossible to maintain the security of NATO’s eastern flank.”

During his visit to Jasionka in Podkarpackie, President Nawrocki stressed that from the first days of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Poland has played one of the key roles in the support system for the embattled country. As he pointed out, more than 95 percent of all donations sent by over 40 countries to Ukraine pass through this very logistics hub in Podkarpackie.

“This place shows the vast effort that Poland puts into building not only its own security, but also the security of all Europe. Here you can see how responsibly the Polish Armed Forces operate and how efficiently our infrastructure works,” he said.

He also underscored that Jasionka is today not only a witness to the “living history of the 21st century,” but also an absolutely indispensable element for securing NATO’s eastern flank. “Without this place, it would not be possible to maintain the current level of the Alliance’s security,” he stated.

The President pointed out that all activities carried out in Jasionka are based on the effort of the Polish budget, the work of soldiers and services, and effective allied cooperation.

“Podkarpackie is today a lens through which one can clearly see how real cooperation within the North Atlantic Alliance functions (…) We fully meet our allied commitments, and the logistics hub in Rzeszów is proof of that,” he added.

And further:

“One must be deeply aware that thanks to the effort of Poles, of Polish soldiers, thanks to places such as the logistics hub in Podkarpackie, it is possible to defend Ukraine against Russian aggression.”
