“Tusk Expected the Right to Turn Against Itself.” Morawiecki Issues Statement After Meeting with Kaczyński

“My loyalty to the patriotic camp has been proven by my actions during the most difficult moments, not by media-driven spin and speculation,” said Law and Justice (PiS) Deputy Chairman Mateusz Morawiecki after his meeting with PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński. However, the former prime minister did not announce any new position regarding his Rozwój Plus association.

On Friday, Law and Justice (PiS) Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński met with Mateusz Morawiecki. The discussion focused, among other issues, on the party’s ban preventing its politicians from participating in organizations with a political character. The main topic of the meeting was undoubtedly the former prime minister’s Rozwój Plus association, which Morawiecki has no intention of leaving.

Following the meeting, PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek stated that “it was a calm conversation, although it did not lead to a resolution of the key issue.” He also stressed that the party’s decision regarding the ban “remains in force and is still valid.”

“Until Thursday, members of parliament who wish to continue working within the party and help build a better future for our homeland have time to submit the appropriate declarations. Everyone will make their own decision, without coercion,” Bochenek wrote later that evening on X.

Shortly afterward, Morawiecki published his own statement.

“No schemer has yet been born who could drive a wedge between me and Chairman Kaczyński. Once again, Donald Tusk hoped for the same thing – that the right would become consumed with its own internal affairs. That intrigue and rumors would do his political work for him. He will be disappointed,” Morawiecki declared.

He added that “my loyalty to the patriotic camp has been proven by my actions during the most difficult moments, not by media-driven spin and speculation.”

“Today, we have one duty: to unite all those who care about a strong, secure, and ambitious Poland. The right includes different experiences, different temperaments, and different sensitivities. That is not our weakness. It is our strength,” he said.

Morawiecki concluded:

“We have only one opponent. That is why everyone must come together. Together we have already shown that we can win elections and govern effectively. We will do it again. Poland will prevail when patriots build bridges between one another, not walls.”
