President Nawrocki Vows Support for Polish Families Across All Areas of Public Life

On Friday in Kolbuszowa, President Karol Nawrocki signed a legislative initiative regarding a draft bill to introduce zero personal income tax (PIT) for families with two or more children. This proposal was part of the “Plan 21” presented by Nawrocki during his election campaign. In an interview for TV Republika, the President stressed how important this initiative is for families and for improving Poland’s demographic situation.

The need for greater support for Polish families

President Nawrocki pointed out that the initiative announced yesterday in Kolbuszowa “directly relates to low, simple, and pro-family taxes.”

“A higher tax-free allowance is a promise made by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the Polish government. Why has it not been implemented? The Prime Minister should explain that. I am open to signing such a law, but it has not reached the President’s desk. I have focused on implementing my own tax program and tax contract, which is why I did not start with the tax-free allowance. However, if the Prime Minister expects such an initiative from the Polish President and wishes to delay the introduction of the tax-free allowance, there may come a time when I encourage him to take that step,”

stressed Karol Nawrocki.

“Today, Poland is objectively facing a demographic crisis, and the President of Poland is now a man who will support Polish families in all sectors of public and social life. (…) This is the fulfillment of my contract, a response not only to the demographic crisis but also to certain priorities of my policy as head of state. Exempting families with two or more children from income tax is something that Polish voters and Polish families have been expecting, something included in the tax contract and met with social approval. The necessary financial resources must be found for this,”

he emphasized.
