The Civic Platform (PO) and its allies, following the presidential veto of the wind farm bill, are now trying to attack Karol Nawrocki over the presidential limousine, which cost around 2 million PLN. The absurdity of this narrative was pointed out by the President’s spokesman, Rafał Leśkiewicz, who emphasized that the car does not belong to the president but to the State Protection Service (SOP), which is overseen by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
The veto by President Karol Nawrocki of the wind farm bill—which also contained provisions for freezing electricity prices—angered the ruling coalition, which quickly launched a media campaign aimed at discrediting the head of state. One of the first manifestations of the Civic Coalition’s spin was a political spot pointing out that the president rides in an armored limousine worth approximately 2 million PLN.
“He bathes in luxury. You pay more because of his #CostlyVeto” – read the caption of the propaganda video.
Thus began a narrative about the president’s “expensive spending.”
The case was reported by outlets such as BlaskOnline.pl, which noted that the limousine in question—a 2025 BMW 7 Protection—was actually ordered with Rafał Trzaskowski in mind, Karol Nawrocki’s rival in the presidential election.
The new presidential limousine replaced the Mercedes S600 Guard previously used by former President Andrzej Duda.
Presidential spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz commented on the matter:
“Apparently Minister Marcin Kierwiński doesn’t even know what resources are at the disposal of the services under his authority. And the ruling coalition is deliberately misleading the public. Not for the first time,” the spokesman added, tagging his post with #horrificmanipulation.

PiS politician Marcin Romanowski also weighed in:
“PO = Party of Fraudsters. This slanderous attack on the President over a car that belongs to their very own SOP is a textbook example of the brazen lies and manipulations of Donald Tusk’s people. Slinging mud to distract from their shameless political theft and corruption, from yachts, swingers’ clubs, and cash funneled straight into their own private pockets.”
“Lies and hatred are the only program of Tusk and his political mafia,” he added.
