CBA officers who interrogated Mr. Marek W. today—the husband of Anna W., who is being held in pre-trial detention—focused not on the plight of their disabled child, whose condition has drastically worsened due to the lack of contact with his mother, but instead asked him whether he wanted legal action taken against the media for exposing the consequences of Bodnar’s unlawful actions. The man firmly refused.
“Two months after my wife’s arrest, our son has regressed developmentally to ‘square one.’ Keeping his mother in detention is torture for him,” reads a statement issued by Marek W. after today’s interrogation.
Today’s questioning of Mr. Marek W., the husband of Anna W.—who remains in custody in connection with the alleged scandal at the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS)—took place under controversial circumstances.
As reported by Gazeta Polska Codziennie, he was originally informed on Friday that he would be questioned in Rzeszów on Monday, just one day after his wife was interrogated under extreme security measures typically reserved for transporting the most dangerous criminals. Ultimately, however, Marek W. managed to convince the authorities to conduct the questioning in Warsaw, as he needed to care for his disabled teenage son.
We previously covered the tragic situation of this child, deprived of contact with his mother, in our articles.
A Shocking Proposal
The purpose of today’s questioning was supposedly to assess the child’s condition and evaluate the justification for releasing his mother from detention. However, instead of focusing on that, Tusk’s officials reportedly made a shocking proposition to Anna W.’s husband.
According to information obtained by Niezależna.pl, the questioning began at 11:00 AM and was conducted by two CBA officers, as the prosecutor in charge of the case once again failed to appear. At the start of the proceedings, Mr. Marek W. was asked whether he had any additional statements to make regarding the RARS case, to which he declined, reaffirming his previous position.
At that point, the officers asked him whether he wanted to file a complaint against individuals disclosing information about his son’s health. Marek W. firmly refused, stating that these actions were meant to help save his child. After this matter was clarified, the questioning was concluded.
Below, we also present the statement issued by the father following today’s interrogation.
It is worth noting that on March 12, the court appointed an expert to assess the child’s current condition. However, to this day, the details of this expert have not been disclosed to the parties involved. Moreover, the expert has not reached out to the child’s family, school, or legal representatives.
