Due to information about a suspicious package, around 480 people were evacuated from a train running on the Przemyśl – Kyiv route. No one was injured, and emergency services are working at the scene.
The services received the report of a suspicious package on the train on Saturday shortly before noon. As junior aspirant Karolina Kowalik from the Municipal Police Headquarters (KMP) in Przemyśl said, police officers, the Border Guard (SG), the Railway Protection Guard (SOK), firefighters, and the ambulance service were immediately dispatched to the scene.
In accordance with applicable procedures, a decision was made to evacuate the train. “Police findings show that approximately 480 people were traveling on the train,” said the spokeswoman for the police headquarters in Przemyśl, adding that all passengers safely left the train.
It is not yet known what the package contained. “At the scene, police officers are clarifying the circumstances of the incident, carrying out procedural actions, and verifying the report,” the police officer added.
