Przemysław Czarnek Reacts to Kaczyński’s Remark: “Maybe I’ll Be Prime Minister One Day”

Przemysław Czarnek commented on the words of Law and Justice (PiS) chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, who said during a rally in Warsaw that he “probably will” become prime minister. “Mr Chairman took pity on me,” said the Law and Justice MP with a smile in an interview with TV Republika.

On Saturday, a rally against illegal migration and the Mercosur agreement was held in Warsaw, organized by the Law and Justice movement. One of the speakers was Jarosław Kaczyński.

“I’m only announcing it. Behind me stand two prime ministers – Prime Minister [Beata] Szydło and Prime Minister [Mateusz] Morawiecki. Behind me also stands another prime minister, as he served as deputy prime minister, and courtesy dictates that in such a case we say ‘prime minister’ – Mr Mariusz Błaszczak. And finally – he hasn’t been prime minister yet, but he probably will be – Minister Przemysław Czarnek,” said Kaczyński.

Many political observers interpreted this as indicating MP Czarnek as the potential candidate for prime minister after the next parliamentary elections. But the Law and Justice MP downplays the speculation.

The man in question responded to the Law and Justice chairman’s words today on TV Republika.

“Chairman Kaczyński didn’t say I’ll be prime minister after Donald Tusk. He said that I was also there, the only one who hasn’t been prime minister, because all the prime ministers spoke on stage – from Prime Minister Kaczyński, to Deputy Prime Minister Błaszczak, Prime Minister Morawiecki, Prime Minister Szydło above all, and I, poor me, without any prime ministerial title whatsoever. So Mr Chairman took pity on me and said that maybe I’ll be prime minister in the future,” said Przemysław Czarnek.
