Przydacz Reveals Topics of Nawrocki–Trump Talks: “We Have Defense Contracts to Fulfill”

The meeting between Polish President Karol Nawrocki and U.S. President Donald Trump will primarily focus on security, said Marcin Przydacz, head of the Bureau of International Policy. The presidential aide is currently in Washington, preparing the visit of the Polish head of state. He noted that the place where the Polish president will be hosted indicates that his American counterpart holds him in “above-average esteem.”

President Nawrocki will arrive in the United States on September 2. A day later, at 11:00 a.m. (5:00 p.m. Polish time), his visit to the White House will begin. After being welcomed by Donald Trump, the two leaders will proceed to the Oval Office, where short statements to the media will be made.

Security as a Priority

The visit in Washington is being prepared by Marcin Przydacz, head of the Bureau of International Policy, who spoke with RMF FM. Asked about the topics of President Nawrocki’s talks with Donald Trump, he stressed that “first and foremost, they will concern matters of security.”

“Key internal discussions are underway in the United States regarding American involvement on various fronts. We also have defense contracts to fulfill. All of this will be part of the talks of the head of state, who is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and Poland’s highest representative abroad,” he said.

He added that the presidents will also discuss economic cooperation. “This is very important for President Donald Trump, but it is also important for Poland and for Polish entrepreneurs. The point is to try to shape the best possible relations in these difficult times,” Przydacz explained.

“The Most Important Polish Perspective”

The talks will also cover Ukraine and peace negotiations. “We will try to persuade the Americans to adopt an approach that will ultimately (…) lead to a peace settlement that is as just as possible. Although it is hard to imagine all sides being satisfied in negotiations, one must certainly not be deceived by Vladimir Putin’s lies, manipulations, and half-truths,” Przydacz said, adding:

“But what matters most for President Karol Nawrocki is the Polish perspective. It is about Poland’s interests, Poland’s security, (…) including energy security. That will definitely be part of the discussion.”

“Above-Average Esteem”

President Nawrocki will be accommodated at Blair House, the official guest residence of the U.S. government. The presidential aide stressed that lodging there depends on the status of the visit. “While official state visits automatically include Blair House, that is not the case with working visits. President Karol Nawrocki is arriving on a working visit, but as a gesture, the American side offered accommodation at Blair House, which shows the exceptional relationship and esteem,” he said.

President Nawrocki will depart the United States on September 4. The following day, he is scheduled to meet Pope Leon XIV at the Vatican.
