PSG Defeat Lens 3-1 in Ligue 1 Top-of-the-Table Clash: Frankowski shines for visitors

Paris Saint-Germain defeated RC Lens 3-1 in a top-of-the-table clash in Ligue 1 on Saturday night. The hosts were led by Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, who put on a show at the Parc des Princes. However, among the visiting team, there was also a player worth noting – Przemysław Frankowski – who, alongside Facundo Medina, was considered the best player on the away side by French media.

Despite initial defensive problems, Frankowski received praise for his attacking contribution, with almost every ball he played finding Lois Openda. He had a few good shots, which were blocked, and in the 60th minute, he won a penalty (after Fabian Ruiz handled the ball in the box following his cross), which he calmly converted. French journalists awarded him a rating of 7, the same as Medina.

Even though they played with ten men from the 19th minute after Salis Abdul Samed was sent off for a rough challenge on Achraf Hakimi, the visitors worked hard and held their own against the Parisian giants. Lens even had more shots in the second half, but their heroic effort did not translate into goals, and PSG capitalized on their numerical advantage to score three goals through Mbappe, Vitinha, and Messi before halftime.

The hosts’ goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was also highly rated, and he owed his rating to Frankowski’s attempts as, without them, Lens would have lost by a more significant margin. In the end, PSG secured a 3-1 victory, taking the top spot in Ligue 1.
