“Recognition of Poland’s International Standing.” Presidential Minister Confirms: Karol Nawrocki Invited to the Peace Council

“This can be regarded as recognition of Poland’s role on the international stage,” said Marcin Przydacz, head of the President’s International Policy Bureau, commenting on the invitation extended by Donald Trump to President Karol Nawrocki to join the Peace Council.

The invitation to the head of state was reported on Monday by the portal Niezalezna.pl. It concerns a body intended to work toward peace in the Gaza Strip. The fact that the American administration extended the offer to Nawrocki was confirmed by Marcin Przydacz.

“President Donald Trump […] has issued this invitation to many leaders of world politics. Many of these politicians have already confirmed their attendance […] This will be the subject of talks with the American side in the near future. As for the final decisions, please allow the American side to first receive the response of the President of the Republic of Poland, and only then will we communicate this publicly,”

he said.

As he stated, “this should be treated as a fairly important event on the political and international map.” “This is the implementation of one of the 28 points of the peace plan that was signed a few weeks ago regarding the situation in Gaza. It was already announced at that time that such a council would be established. This issue was also discussed at the United Nations,” he pointed out.

“Without a doubt, the willingness to involve Poland in discussions on the security situation in the Middle East should be seen as recognition of Poland’s role on the international stage,”

he said.

He added that “this council also invites individuals with whom the Polish president has no common ground whatsoever; one such politician is certainly Vladimir Putin.”

“We are dealing here with extremely divergent assessments and opinions of the international situation. However, in diplomacy, it is never the case that one can speak only with those with whom one agrees 100 percent,”

he declared.

He recalled that not long ago, Poland received an invitation to the G20 group, which also includes the Russian Federation.
