Following yesterday’s disclosure of a likely airing of advertisements on Google and MetaAds, the same presidential committee has been caught violating election silence again—this time via a different account within the Google Ads ecosystem, according to tvrepublika.pl. Internet users were still able to view political advertisements on Saturday, May 17.
An analysis of data from Google’s official ad database indicates that a graphic promoting a negative campaign by one of the committees was scheduled to run from May 10 to May 18, 2025. The system recorded a total budget of between 3,500 and 4,000 PLN, with a reach of 3.5 to 4 million impressions.
The system also notes: “last shown: May 17, 2025.” This is an unambiguous indication that the advertisement reached internet users during the period of election silence.
“Will this case also be explained as a system error?”
asks Piotr Okulski.
On Saturday, the portal niezalezna.pl reported that one of the campaign teams had likely failed to disable advertisements promoting their presidential candidate on social media platforms.
