Republika News: Żurek submitted a request to the president to approve the dismissal of all Deputy Prosecutors General

It seems that Waldemar Żurek, the Minister of Justice, continues his “purge.” Cezary Gmyz, an investigative journalist from TV Republika, announced on social media that “Waldemar Żurek submitted a request to President Karol Nawrocki to approve the dismissal of all Deputy Prosecutors General, including Korneluk and Bilewicz.”

At a press conference last week, Waldemar Żurek even boasted that in his first days as Minister of Justice, he had suspended nearly fifty presidents and vice-presidents of courts across Poland. He must have been very pleased with himself, as he repeated this information during a media tour, appearing only on outlets whose journalists didn’t ask inconvenient questions – especially about the consequences of the purge.

Republika News: more dismissals coming?

It seems that the number of court presidents and vice-presidents suspended by Żurek is still not enough to talk about “effective accountability.”

That’s why, according to a post on social media by Cezary Gmyz, an investigative journalist from TV Republika, a request has reportedly landed on the desk of the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, seeking… approval to dismiss all Deputy Prosecutors General. Interestingly – as Gmyz adds – this includes Dariusz Korneluk and Jacek Bilewicz.

The TV Republika journalist also listed additional names said to be included in the request. These are: prosecutor Robert Hernand, prosecutor Michał Ostrowski, prosecutor Beata Marczak, prosecutor Andrzej Pozorski, prosecutor Tomasz Janeczek, and prosecutor Krzysztof Sierak.

Besides them, the request also concerns Hernand, Ostrowski, Marczak, Pozorski, Janeczek, and Sierak

As rightly pointed out, the request to dismiss Korneluk is groundless, since he was never a legal Deputy Prosecutor General or National Prosecutor.

The request to dismiss Korneluk is, of course, groundless because he was never a legal Deputy Prosecutor General or National Prosecutor
