The U.S. Department of War posted a message this morning titled “Operation Epic Fury,” shortly after Donald Trump announced a massive U.S. strike on Iran. Israel’s assault on the Iranian regime has been given the codename “Roaring Lion.” Israel’s Channel 12, citing its sources, reported that in the view of Israeli authorities, “the attacks on Iran so far have been highly successful” in eliminating Iranian leaders.
Earlier this morning, Polish time, Donald Trump announced in a special statement published on Truth Social that the United States had launched a large-scale military operation in Iran.
Shortly afterward, the Department of War posted the message: “Operation Epic Fury.”
Israel’s attack, in turn, bears the codename “Roaring Lion.”
“The Israel Defense Forces and the United States Armed Forces have launched a broad joint operation aimed at the complete destruction of the Iranian terrorist regime and the gradual elimination of existential threats to Israel,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated.
The IDF emphasized that “the Iranian regime has not abandoned its plan to destroy Israel.”
Israel’s Channel 12, citing its sources, reported that according to Israeli authorities, “the attacks on Iran so far have been highly successful” in eliminating Iranian leaders.
According to the report discussed by the station, the initial strikes targeted presidential facilities.
The report also stated that “it is unclear whether Ali Khamenei has not experienced some dramatic event.” It was confirmed that the Islamic leader was among the primary targets of the attack.
Senior military commanders and key regime officials were also reportedly targeted.
Reuters, citing a source close to authorities in Tehran, reported that several high-ranking commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in the strikes.
