“We will handle this,” said the Head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, Zbigniew Bogucki, on TV Republika, commenting on the attacks against the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), Sławomir Cenckiewicz.
The government side is pushing a narrative suggesting that Sławomir Cenckiewicz was stripped of his security clearance for access to classified information, which, according to this line of argument, would automatically downgrade the status of the National Security Bureau (BBN). The day before Karol Nawrocki’s swearing-in as President of Poland, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister filed cassation appeals to the Supreme Administrative Court against rulings of the Provincial Administrative Court from June 17 of this year, rulings which had given Cenckiewicz victory in his legal battle.
TV Republika recently reported that officers of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) are expected to enter the Presidential Palace.
What is the President’s position on this matter? – Tomasz Sakiewicz asked during the program “Political Coffee” on TV Republika. His guest was Zbigniew Bogucki, Head of the Chancellery of the President.
“We have a very clear legal situation, and I say this also as a lawyer. The court ruling effectively annulled that decision. Of course, there is an extraordinary appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court, but the regulations are unequivocal. That decision remains formally in force, but it produces no legal effects. And since it produces no legal effects, Professor Cenckiewicz, as head of the National Security Bureau, has access to the most highly classified materials,”
Bogucki replied.
Bogucki further emphasized that it was Cenckiewicz who had exposed the pathological conduct of the security services during the so-called reset with Russia pursued by Donald Tusk’s government. “At the time when there was a memorandum allowing Polish services to cooperate with Russian special services. The list is long,” Bogucki added, assuring: “Today, these people are trying to take personal revenge on Professor Cenckiewicz. We, as the administration of the new President, will handle this. We have worked through every possible scenario.”
“Critics can bark, but we move forward!”
Bogucki concluded.
