Russia Paid for “Eight Stars” and Attacks on President Duda. Clear Evidence Presented

Russian intelligence paid for personal attacks on the President of the Republic of Poland and for promoting the slogan “f**k PiS,” Stanisław Żaryn, advisor to President Andrzej Duda, reported on social media. Media outlets have presented evidence showing how Russian services attempted to influence a change of government in Poland between 2022 and 2023.

In an analysis posted on social media, Stanisław Żaryn examined TVN24’s piece titled “Rabota w Polsze” (Work in Poland), which he believes “exposes the vast scale of manipulation by Donald Tusk’s government.”

According to the report, during the United Right’s rule, Polish security services performed significantly better in handling threats related to “Russian intelligence operations, as well as sabotage and diversionary activities.” After the change of government, the operational model shifted from preventive and proactive to reactive.

Żaryn pointed out that “during PiS’s rule, Russia intensified its intelligence efforts against Poland, organizing acts of sabotage, diversion, and asymmetric warfare.” A major advantage in combating Russian subversion was the use of modern equipment and operational technologies which, under the coalition that took power on December 13, became the target of a political smear campaign.

Russia Paid for ‘Eight Stars’

A key aspect is how Russian intelligence allegedly influenced Poland’s internal situation:

“Russian intelligence paid for personal attacks on the President of Poland and for promoting the slogan ‘f**k PiS.’ The vulgar form of this message—often referred to as ‘Eight Stars’—was and still is a very important part of the political activity of the circles that now form the government. In previous years, they used slogans like these to wage a political battle against the PiS government,” Żaryn wrote.

He added that the TV segment presented evidence long discussed in certain circles:

  • “Russia was interested in bringing about a change to the conservative government in Poland. Russia paid to promote the slogan ‘f**k PiS’—and did so on a massive scale,” the presidential advisor stated.

On the other hand, Żaryn questioned whether “sharing such detailed information with the media about Russia’s activities against Poland during an ongoing Russian operation does not undermine national security.”

Among the evidence presented is part of a conversation between a “saboteur” and a “client,” in which the latter gives instructions on which slogans should be spray-painted around various locations in the city.
