Ukrainian military analysts have traced the trajectory of several missiles launched from Russia towards Ukraine, including one that briefly entered Polish airspace. The incident, involving a Russian-made Shahed suicide drone, has raised concerns about the security of NATO airspace.
According to a map created by the Ukrainian analyst known as “Radnik,” one of the unmanned drones flew along the Polish border before turning back towards Lviv. The drone was reportedly launched from the Chalino area near Kursk, which hosts the “Aerodrom” airbase. This particular drone was part of a series of attacks targeting various regions in Ukraine, including Chernihiv, Poltava, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and western Ukraine.
Polish military officials confirmed the airspace breach. Major General Maciej Klisz, Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, stated that the object was detected by at least three radar stations and was closely monitored. “I was fully prepared to shoot it down,” Klisz noted, highlighting the readiness of Polish defense systems.
In addition to the drone incursions, Russian forces also launched Kalibr missiles from Crimea and ballistic missiles, further intensifying their assault on Ukraine.
The incident underscores the growing threats posed by Russia’s aggressive military actions, with spillover effects potentially impacting neighboring NATO countries.
