We still do not know what exactly the action of the Russian drone, which exploded 80 km from Warsaw, was about. In less than 20 minutes, it could have reached unnoticed the ammonium nitrate warehouses in Puławy, the power distribution station in Stara Miłosna that supplies Warsaw, or the experimental nuclear reactor near the capital.
It could have done anything, since our air defense simply failed to detect it. The main reason the mission ended was that it got caught in high-voltage power lines. I don’t really believe this was just an accident.
At this moment, negotiations are underway regarding the end of the war in Ukraine. The Russians are demanding significant territorial concessions. What is worse, in the Russian strategy the presence of American troops in Central Europe is also a subject of negotiation.
On Wednesday, the Russians sent a clear signal that Poland is not a stable partner. They ridiculed our attempts to prove that we have solid defenses. After the failure of our diplomacy in Washington, another defeat followed. This is beginning to be dangerous for all of us.
