Russians Strike Near the Polish Border. Postal Terminal Set on Fire

At least one person was killed and around 10 others were injured overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday as a result of Russian drone attacks on Ukraine. Russian forces struck, among other targets, the city of Lutsk near the Polish border, where multiple fires broke out, local authorities reported on Wednesday.

In Lutsk, located approximately 80 km in a straight line east of the Polish border, a terminal belonging to the private logistics operator Nova Poshta was attacked and destroyed. In the same city, drones also struck warehouse facilities belonging to a retail chain.

“The Nova Poshta terminal and a food warehouse belonging to one of the retail chains were considered strategic targets for the attack (by Russia). (…) Thank God, at present there is no information about casualties,” said Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk in a message on Telegram. Due to the fires, heavy smoke has been observed in the area, and residents have been asked not to open their windows.

As a result of the drone attacks, a 19-year-old man was killed in the Kherson region in the south of the country. Authorities also reported around 10 injured in the Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia used 339 drones in the latest wave of attacks overnight, including nearly 200 Shahed drones. Of the aircraft deployed in the raid, 298 were shot down or neutralized using electronic warfare systems.
