The president of TV Republika criticized the members of the illegal Pegasus commission for exploiting the law in an attempt to humiliate former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro. As Tomasz Sakiewicz emphasized, in the end, however, it was the commission itself that was humiliated by Ziobro. “This is how belief in one’s own exceptionalism ends when even ordinary conduct proves embarrassing,” he assessed.

“A disaster of their own making. Hundreds of police officers, brazen violations of the law, a sadistic desire to drag a gravely ill politician through the mud, only to satisfy a small segment of the electorate hungry for retribution. And instead of holding PiS accountable, what we saw was a public reckoning with the thieving cliques tied to the current ruling group. Added to that is the already familiar intellectual brilliance of the members of the Pegasus commission. This is how belief in one’s own exceptionalism ends when even ordinary conduct proves embarrassing” assessed Tomasz Sakiewicz.
