An effigy was discovered right at the Polish-German border in the town of Zasieki, accompanied by a dummy mortar shell and a plaque bearing the Polish eagle and the inscription “Poland.” The matter is now under investigation by the prosecutor’s office.
Scandalous Discovery Near the Border
According to the “Służby w Akcji” (Emergency Services in Action) portal, Border Guard officers came across the effigy in the vicinity of Zasieki, located in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, directly adjacent to the German border. The officers’ attention was drawn by the unusual sight – next to the mannequin was an object resembling a mortar shell and a plaque displaying the national emblem of Poland and the word “Poland.”
Police patrol units and soldiers were immediately dispatched to the scene. After a thorough inspection of the area, the threat was ruled out, and the entire site was secured. Following the instructions of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Żary, all items were secured as potential evidence in a case concerning the suspected desecration of the emblem of the Republic of Poland. The matter is now being handled by the appropriate authorities.
At this time, it is unknown who is responsible for preparing this provocative installation or what its intended purpose was. It is not ruled out that this may have been a deliberate act aimed at mocking Polish national symbols.
