Services have recordings of the Polish sky. “A fast-moving object can be seen”

An unidentified object fell last night near the village of Osiny in the Lublin region. Residents heard a loud bang and saw a flash of explosion. According to unofficial reports, Polish services have obtained surveillance footage of the Polish sky. It shows a fast-moving object. Rzeczpospolita reported unofficially that it was a Shahed drone, used by Russia in attacks on Ukraine.

The recording obtained by the services was reported by the portal of Radio Zet.

The portal stated that the services present at the scene are checking whether it was a civilian or military object, and from what altitude it fell to the ground.

Shahed drones are Iranian-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used by Russia in the invasion of Ukraine under the name Geran-2.

The village of Osiny is located about 100 km from the Belarusian and Ukrainian borders.

Earlier, in a statement, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces (DO RSZ) informed that “after conducting preliminary analyses of radar system records, no violation of Polish airspace was registered last night either from the direction of Ukraine or Belarus.”

According to the army’s “initial assessments,” the object was supposed to be “a part of an old engine with a propeller.”

As reported by Staff Sgt. Marcin Józwik of the Łuków police, after 2 a.m. on Tuesday night to Wednesday, officers received a report about an “explosion, detonation” in the village of Osiny in the Łuków district. Police reported that no one was injured in the incident, but nearby buildings were damaged.

At the site, police found metal and plastic fragments of the object.
