Flood devastates Kłodzko’s Franciscan Monastery; monks safe but call for prayers and support amid severe damage.
The Franciscan Monastery in Kłodzko has been devastated by recent floods. Water levels rose to the height of the pulpit inside the church, while the monastery’s ground floor was submerged to the ceiling. The parish building is almost completely underwater, with only the roof visible. The flood has caused damage comparable to the catastrophic flood of 1997.
Despite the destruction, the monks are safe. Thanks to the assistance of parishioners, valuable items were moved to the monastery’s upper floors. They have sufficient food and water to last for the next few days.
A Call for Support and Prayer
As the situation remains dire, the monastery appeals for prayers for those affected and for the relief efforts. These acts of solidarity offer spiritual support in this time of crisis. Once the waters recede, assistance will be crucial for recovery and rebuilding efforts.
