Government spokesperson Adam Szłapka once again attacked the leader of the Border Defense Movement (ROG), Robert Bąkiewicz, on the X platform, writing that “justice will catch up with him.” However, the politician from Tusk’s party didn’t have to wait long for a response. “While some people say you’re an idiot, I don’t share that opinion, so I assume you’re deliberately making the uniformed services look like fools,” Bąkiewicz replied.
Attack on Bąkiewicz
Robert Bąkiewicz, the leader of the Border Defense Movement, is expected to be charged with insulting officers of the Border Guard (SG) and Military Police (ŻW) during an incident on the Polish-German border in Słubice. Although prosecutors from Gorzów Wielkopolski had doubts about the legitimacy of the charges, the decision to proceed reportedly came “from above” – from the regional prosecutor in Szczecin. The Gorzów prosecutor, who was formally supposed to bring the charges against Bąkiewicz, submitted a motion to be removed from the case.
After Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek announced a planned meeting with Dariusz Korneluk, the National Public Prosecutor’s Office (PK) issued a surprising statement. It said that after analyzing the case files, the directive, and the motion for removal, Dariusz Korneluk decided that the assigned prosecutor would not be excluded from performing procedural activities in the case.
“Some people say you’re an idiot…” Bąkiewicz responds to Szłapka
This morning, Marcin Kierwiński, the Minister of the Interior in Tusk’s government, once again attacked Bąkiewicz, writing that “this aggressive agitator has violated the dignity of officers serving the Republic and will be held accountable.” He was echoed by government spokesperson Adam Szłapka, who posted the following statement: “There is no permission to spit on the Polish uniform. Justice will catch up with Bąkiewicz.” The leader of the Border Defense Movement responded sharply to Szłapka’s post.
“While some people say you’re an idiot, I don’t share that opinion, so I assume you’re deliberately making the uniformed services look like fools, convincing them that you’re defenders of the Polish uniform – even though no one has disgraced it more than you. So the word ‘justice’ in your mouths sounds like a grim joke,”
Bąkiewicz said to Szłapka.
