Stanowski Agreed to TV Republika’s Request, Says TVP Is “Out of Its Depth”

An interview between Krzysztof Stanowski and Karol Nawrocki will be aired on TV Republika. “We agreed,” acknowledged the founder of Kanał Zero and presidential candidate. On this occasion, he also took the opportunity to criticize the government-run TVP, currently in the process of liquidation.

Stanowski’s Interview with Nawrocki Breaks Popularity Records

Krzysztof Stanowski, founder of Kanał Zero and candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Poland, conducted an interview yesterday with Karol Nawrocki that lasted over three hours. The conversation gained immense popularity and provoked the ire of supporters of Rafał Trzaskowski, who—despite a public invitation—has so far declined to appear for an interview with Stanowski. Supporters of the Civic Platform (PO) have been attacking the journalist-candidate, accusing him of partisanship.

Stanowski on TV Republika’s Request: “We Agreed”

Stanowski is himself running for president, offering a behind-the-scenes view of an election campaign. He attends other candidates’ events, participates in debates, and invites them for extended interviews. This project is unprecedented in the media landscape—and so, too, is the scale of vitriol directed at him, particularly from circles supportive of the current government.

Stanowski’s interview with Nawrocki has already garnered 1.4 million views on YouTube and will also be broadcast on TV Republika (with the permission of Kanał Zero) tonight at 10:45 p.m. Stanowski explained why he agreed to the arrangement—and used the occasion to take a jab at the TVP in liquidation.

“TV Republika asked us for permission to air yesterday’s interview with Karol Nawrocki. Since they had provided us with the signal for Monday’s debate, we agreed. At the same time, we are also willing to make our interviews with all presidential candidates available to Public Television free of charge, because I can see that it is not coping with the fulfilment of its mission,”

he wrote.
