Member of Parliament Przemysław Wipler has submitted a parliamentary inquiry to the Minister of National Defence, highlighting dramatic ammunition shortages in the Polish Army. “Equipment worth billions of PLN without ammunition will not guarantee our security,” warns the Confederation politician.
The MP Sounds the Alarm
Przemysław Wipler, an MP from the Confederation party, has demanded immediate action from the Ministry of National Defence over the insufficient ammunition stockpiles for the Polish Armed Forces. In his view, despite multi-billion-zloty investments in modern military hardware, Poland is not prepared for a prolonged armed conflict.
“Equipment worth billions of PLN without ammunition will not provide us with security. I demand concrete measures so our soldiers can defend Poland effectively—not merely for a few days—and so that the ammunition crucial to the military is produced in our own factories,”
Wipler wrote on social media, addressing Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz directly.
The politician accuses the defence ministry of failing to take effective steps to ensure the army’s genuine defensive capabilities. In his assessment, merely possessing modern weaponry is insufficient if it is not accompanied by adequate quantities of munitions. The MP also stresses the necessity of developing the domestic arms industry.
