During the program “Jastrząb Show” on TV Republika, physician Narcyz Sadłoń appealed to the medical community. He drew attention to Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s treatment of Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski. “No politician, especially Prime Minister Donald Tusk, has the right to publicly humiliate any doctor. Mr. Tusk did not address Emil Jędrzejewski – he addressed every one of us. Today he said it to Dr. Jędrzejewski, tomorrow any one of us could find ourselves in the same situation,” he said.
Poland has been shaken by media reports concerning the Civic Platform (KO) scandal at Warsaw’s Southern Hospital. Medical procedures in the Emergency Department were allegedly performed improperly, with medical errors reportedly leading to complications that, in some cases, resulted in patients’ deaths. It was also revealed that Dr. Dawid Kacprzyk, the coordinator of the hospital’s Emergency Department and a Civic Platform (KO) councillor in Warsaw’s Ursus district, allegedly earned PLN 1.6 million last year while completing his anesthesiology residency by working at various medical facilities. Equally shocking were reports of a “VIP lounge,” where politicians from the ruling party were allegedly admitted without waiting in line.
Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski, the hospital’s former head of the Emergency Department, has spoken extensively about the alleged irregularities. He is scheduled to be questioned by prosecutors on Monday, but Prime Minister Donald Tusk has already publicly attacked him, questioning his credibility.
Narcyz Sadłoń, a physician, commented on the matter during “Jastrząb Show” on TV Republika.
“I appeal to all medical professionals and doctors who earn their salaries honestly, who work hard, often under extremely difficult conditions within our healthcare system. Every one of us deserves respect and credibility. No politician, especially Prime Minister Donald Tusk, has the right to publicly humiliate any doctor. Mr. Tusk did not address Emil Jędrzejewski – he addressed every one of us. Today he said it to Dr. Jędrzejewski, tomorrow any one of us could find ourselves in the same situation,” Dr. Sadłoń said during Sławomir Jastrzębowski’s program.
“The time has come to speak out on this matter. Publicly stripping a doctor and a military officer of his credibility? It is time to do what is right!” the physician stressed.
Dr. Sadłoń added that Emil Jędrzejewski is a colonel, an outstanding physician, and an excellent military officer.
“He is a true professional, uncompromising when it comes to medical standards, extremely hardworking, and exceptionally courteous. He never distinguished between patients based on who they were or what their social status was. He treated a homeless and seriously ill person with exactly the same commitment as he treated high-profile patients. The patients were different, but Dr. Jędrzejewski was always the same,” Sadłoń said, adding:
“I worked with him in the Emergency Department under very difficult conditions. He was not someone who spoke at length, but whenever he did, his words were genuine and truthful.”
