At the summit in London concerning peace in Ukraine, there will be no one who could represent Poland’s position. Instead of making efforts to participate in the talks, the head of the Polish government published a short social media post attacking the United States in tone. The post gained popularity after being reposted by the owner of X, with a mocking comment. Yet for pro-government media, the numbers under Tusk’s post are a reason for delight – and considerable delight at that.
Today in London, a meeting of European leaders with the president of Ukraine will take place. Participating will be the prime minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz. The talks will focus on negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. The world learned about the summit through Macron’s post on X.
To sum up – the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Ukraine. It is the leaders of these countries who will discuss peace just beyond our eastern border.
And here, one fundamental question rings loudly: why, once again, has Poland not been invited to the talks?
Nevertheless, instead of making efforts to join the discussions, Donald Tusk – once again outplayed in Europe, the head of the Polish government – published a post on Saturday. It followed a well-known narrative, striking at Poland’s biggest ally, the United States.
“Dear American friends, Europe is your closest ally, not your problem. We have common enemies. At least that’s how it has been for the last 80 years. We must stick to this; it is the only reasonable strategy for our shared security. Unless something changes.” wrote Tusk.
Poland Without a Representative, but With Tusk’s… Score
It turns out that the fact that Poland will not have its representative at the summit’s talks in London does not matter in the slightest. What matters more to media favouring the current authorities is that Tusk’s Saturday post on X “is breaking popularity records worldwide.”
The European Analytical Collective Res Futura, a foundation specialising in research, analysis and consultancy in the field of information security and data protection in the digital environment, examined Tusk’s post. Yesterday, the organisation announced that the coalition leader’s 13 December publication was, in the last 24 hours, the most engaging post in the world concerning socio-political matters.
Therefore, the German-Swiss portal Onet decided to proclaim Tusk’s success, dedicating a separate article to it:

What explains the popularity of Tusk’s post? According to the outlet, the “success” of the leader of the governing team was addressed by Paweł Jabłoński, former deputy foreign minister.
“OK, maybe Macron, Starmer and Merz will be sorting something out with Zelensky in London, but let’s be honest – do any of them have as many views on Twitter as our brilliant Beloved Mr Prime Minister? I don’t think so. So what now, haters, feeling stupid?” he wrote on x.com.
