Why will Poland not take part in the next peace summit on Ukraine? “I put forward this thesis – leaders, seeing that Donald Tusk has completely reshuffled his approach toward the leader of the largest country, do not want to create problems for themselves with any photos or friendliness toward such a politically immature player”, said Beata Kempa, adviser to the President of Poland, on TV Republika.
On Saturday, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, announced that already on Monday he would meet in London with the leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany and Ukraine: Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Chancellor Friedrich Merz and President Volodymyr Zelensky, to discuss U.S. efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. In short – it will be another summit aimed at bringing peace to Ukraine.
“We must continue to put pressure on Russia to force it to conclude peace. (…) Ukraine can count on our unwavering support. This is the essence of the efforts we have undertaken within the coalition of the willing. We will continue them together with the Americans to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, without which there will be no lasting peace. Because what is happening in Ukraine also affects the security of all Europe”, Macron wrote on platform X.
Another summit without Poland
Once again, Poland has not been invited to the talks. Meanwhile, instead of making efforts to participate, both Donald Tusk – the head of the Polish government – and Radosław Sikorski, the minister of foreign affairs, prefer… to post on platform X. And these posts… target the United States.
Kempa: I don’t see any activity from Tusk
Beata Kempa, adviser to President Karol Nawrocki, appeared today on Miłosz Kłeczek’s programme Wysokie Napięcie. She recalled that during his first visit abroad as head of state, immediately after his inauguration, Nawrocki travelled to the United States at the invitation of Donald Trump. At the same time, she criticised the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, for his lack of activity in international politics.
“This is not a wise policy for our security. We are a frontline country. The war is still ongoing and has not ended. All the more reason for there to be stability in our country, and the government should ensure it. That is not the case. Once again, just as in the case of the late President Lech Kaczyński, the entire industry of contempt has been activated. There is a massive propaganda campaign against the president. Against his wife as well. Recently, increasingly vile posts have been appearing online about her, claiming she has no immunity. It is so primitive. It is hard to believe that people at any level would juggle with our country’s security in this way.”
She added – “The president’s first visit was to the United States. Earlier, he had built very good relations with the leader of the largest state. Geopolitically and strategically, this was really a very big success, a great gain for the Polish state. But this pains Donald Tusk…”
“Do you see Donald Tusk being received in European capitals? I do not see his activity in Europe – aside from Berlin, of course. Probably – I put forward this thesis – leaders, seeing that Donald Tusk has completely reshuffled his policy toward the leader of the largest country, do not want to create problems for themselves with any photos or friendliness toward such a politically immature player, even though Tusk has been in politics for years. Nevertheless, what now comes to the forefront is an enormous immaturity.”
