    Swiatek reaches semifinals in Doha due to Bencic withdrawal

    Iga Swiatek quickly advanced to the quarterfinals of the Doha tournament and was set to face Belinda Bencic, the Olympic champion from Tokyo, in the semifinal match. Unfortunately, the match was cancelled when Bencic withdrew from the competition.

    The start of the tournament in Doha was a dream for the World No.1. It took her only 53 minutes to win against Danielle Collins, and her rival managed to win just one game.

    The quarterfinals were to feature a clash with Belinda Bencic. The Swiss woman defeated Victoria Azarenka after an exhausting encounter. Unfortunately, despite the victory, she will not proceed to the clash with the Pole.

    Swiatek’s next opponent will be determined by a meeting between Coco Gauff and Veronika Kudermietova. The American will play against the Russian on Thursday. Also, on Thursday in the late afternoon, we will know the program for Friday and the potential time of the world’s best tennis player’s match for the final.
