The gold medalist of this year’s European and World Championships in parashooting, Szymon Sowiński from Zielona Góra is the winner of the 4th Plebiscite of the Polish Paralympic Committee for the Athlete of the Year 2022.
Szymon Sowiński is a specialist in sport parashooting in pistol competitions. He won the gold and silver medal at the World Championships, and the gold and silver medal individually during the European Championships.
Last year, the representative of Start Zielona Góra was also the winner of the first Paralympic medal in the history of Polish sport parashooting. This year’s victory of Szymon in the World Cup in Chatearoux in France also ensured a place for Poland at the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris.
The plebiscite consisted of three stages, but it was the Internet users and their votes that decided about the winner.
The award for the Athlete of the Year was presented by Magdalena Kopka-Wojciechowska, Member of the Board at Totalizator Sportowy. The Lotto brand’s owner is the Main Partner of this year’s Plebiscite.
