    The 17th Katyn March of Shadows in Warsaw

    Remembering the victims of Soviet crimes, the 17th Katyn March of Shadows will take place on April 14, 2024, at 3:00 PM. It will traverse the streets of Warsaw, from Aleje Jerozolimskie through the Royal Route, to the Monument to the Fallen and Murdered in the East.

    March of Remembrance

    In tribute to the victims of Soviet atrocities, the Katyn March of Shadows has been organized since 2008 on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Katyn Massacre. This documentary by the IPN sheds light on the annual procession commemorating the victims of Katyn, Kharkiv, Mednoye, Bykivnia, and Kuropaty, with English subtitles available.

    A Solemn Commemoration

    The Katyn March of Shadows is an annual commemorative procession held in Warsaw to mark the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Katyn Massacre. Organized by the Historical Group “Radosław,” with patrons including the Institute of National Remembrance, the Katyń Committee, the “Golgotha of the East” Foundation, and the Katyn Family Association in Warsaw.

    Remembering the Fallen

    The march honors the Polish officers of the Polish Army, the Border Protection Corps, and the police murdered by the Soviets in 1940. Participants, dressed in historical Polish officer uniforms, silently pass through significant locations, including the Polish Army Museum, Krakowskie Przedmieście street, Castle Square, the Old Town Market Square, the Barbican, Długa street, Krasiński Square, and Bonifraterska street, culminating at the Monument to the Fallen and Murdered in the East.
