Since early this morning, events marking the Polish Armed Forces Day have been taking place. But where is Donald Tusk? Certainly not at the Holy Mass in the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army.
For years, August 15 has been celebrated as Polish Armed Forces Day. This is also the first major ceremony attended by the new President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.
Where is Donald Tusk?
Although since the early hours both the head of state and the Minister of National Defence (MON) – Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz – have been taking part in the celebrations of the Polish Armed Forces Day, the Prime Minister Donald Tusk is, once again, nowhere to be found during the main ceremonies.
He is not attending the solemn Eucharist at the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army, where representatives of the highest state, civilian, and military authorities are present, including: President Karol Nawrocki with his wife Marta, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz with his wife, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA) Czesław Mroczek, as well as senior military commanders led by Chief of the General Staff Gen. Wiesław Kukuła, First President of the Supreme Court Małgorzata Manowska, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Media reports have indicated that at 9:00 Tusk is scheduled to make a statement, but at… the GROM military unit, where he is set to begin his visit at 8:30.
This is yet another occasion when the head of the Polish government does not take an active part in the key ceremonies of an important national holiday.
