The National Electoral Commission (PKW) has released a short video guide for those who will be outside Poland during the presidential election on May 18 or June 1. Learn how to prepare to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
Whether you’re living abroad permanently or just vacationing, don’t forget your civic duty. On May 18, Polish citizens will elect their next president.
The National Electoral Commission has prepared a brief guide on how to vote while outside the country during either the first or second round of the election.
Key Information
You can find the address of your local polling station on the websites of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the relevant consulate, or the PKW.
How to vote from abroad:
- Register with the local consul to be added to the voter list—this applies whether you’re a permanent resident or temporarily staying in the country.
- You’ll need a valid Polish passport or national ID card (if it’s sufficient for entry into that country).
- Registration can be done in person or online at ewybory.msz.gov.pl.
- The deadline to register is May 13.
- Once submitted, your application is valid for both rounds of voting. If you wish to vote in a different location for the second round (e.g., in Poland), you’ll need to either apply for a change of voting location or obtain a certificate of voting eligibility.
