“Poles are once again being subjected to manipulative tactics aimed at undermining — or perhaps even blocking — the presidency of Karol Nawrocki,” stated Dr. Stanisław Żaryn, commenting on recent actions by members of the ruling camp. He recalled that during both the electoral campaign and the election itself, democratic principles were repeatedly violated by those in power. He added that a report currently being finalized by the National Security Institute Foundation will serve as the basis for referrals to the public prosecutor’s office.
In Żaryn’s assessment, “the election campaign was dishonest, one-sided, and rife with manipulation.” “The government employed state institutions under its control to support its candidate and attack his opponents. The violation of democratic principles is clear and undeniable!” he emphasized.
He further observed that Poles are currently being subjected to “continued manipulations aimed at weakening — and possibly even halting — Karol Nawrocki’s presidency.”
Żaryn also released a video in which he elaborated on his position.
“A coordinated operation is underway to manipulate both the perception and the outcome of the vote,” he said.
The National Security Institute Foundation has been closely monitoring the campaign, identifying actions that, in its assessment, posed a threat to the informational integrity of the electoral process. “Our report, which is now nearing completion, leaves no doubt — this was the most dishonest and one-sided election campaign we have ever witnessed,” Żaryn asserted.
He noted that throughout the campaign, the government’s actions were repeatedly identified as utilizing both its own mechanisms and subordinate public institutions to support Rafał Trzaskowski and discredit his main rivals.
“These actions clearly demonstrated coordination among institutions that are formally independent and have no official connection to Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign,” Żaryn said. “Nevertheless, entities such as the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Supreme Audit Office were drawn into activities of an electoral nature.” He concluded by stressing the need to “put a stop to the current disinformation campaign.”
