Prominent representatives of the “December 13 coalition” are attacking President Karol Nawrocki for allegedly reacting inadequately to remarks made by President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, MEP Tobiasz Bocheński pointed out that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not spoken on the matter at all.
“Why, for several days now, has Radek Sikorski — despite his excellent English — not found the time to speak out on this issue?” asked the PiS MEP.
The December 13 coalition’s attack on President Nawrocki
A few days ago, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that the United States had never needed NATO’s help and had “never really asked allies for anything.”
“You know, they’ll say they sent troops to Afghanistan or Sudan, and they did. They stayed a little behind, a little away from the front line,”
he added.
Many leaders responded to his words. The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, also spoke out. In a post published on X, he recalled that “44 brave Poles – 43 soldiers and one civilian – were killed in Afghanistan.”
“Polish soldiers are heroes. They deserve respect and words of gratitude for their service,”
he emphasized.
Despite the head of state taking a clear position, prominent representatives of the December 13 coalition launched an attack on the president, claiming that he had allegedly reacted insufficiently to Trump’s remarks.
“Why is Sikorski silent?”
Tobiasz Bocheński, a PiS MEP, addressed the matter today. The politician drew attention to the silence of Radosław Sikorski, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Why has Radosław Sikorski forgotten the English language? Why is a man, the foreign minister, who tried at all costs to prove that he has excellent relations with the American administration, to the point that he even ran onto the lawn in front of the White House to prove he has great contacts with Mark Rubio, why is the foreign minister silent?”
he asked.
The politician from the largest opposition party also asked, “Why, for several days now, Radek Sikorski, despite his excellent English, has not found the time to speak out on this matter?”
