„For at least a dozen or so days now, the Prime Minister has been saying that he is calling, allegedly sending text messages, trying to get in touch with the President. He says this everywhere and to everyone except the one person he should be saying it to: President Nawrocki. That is probably not serious, is it?” said Zbigniew Bogucki, Head of the Chancellery of President Karol Nawrocki. In this way, the politician commented on yesterday’s statement by Tusk regarding a meeting with the head of state.
Tusk on the meeting with the President
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced after Tuesday’s “Coalition of the Willing” summit in Paris that later this week he would speak with President Karol Nawrocki “about what the role of the President is and what the role of the government is in the process intended to provide Ukraine with security guarantees after a ceasefire.”
Head of the Presidential Chancellery on Tusk’s remarks
Asked the same evening on Polsat News when such a meeting would take place, Head of the Presidential Chancellery Zbigniew Bogucki stated that “the President is open to such a meeting.”
“If the Prime Minister wants to get through, he will dial that number rather than talk about dialing it. I spoke with the President on this matter shortly before the holidays, and he said that there had been no phone call,”
he said.
When pressed on whether an official request for such a meeting had been made by the Prime Minister, Bogucki replied that there had not yet been such a request.
“If the Prime Minister wants to meet, the President has said many times that he has no problem with that. I think the President will certainly find time to discuss important matters,”
he emphasized.
He also added that in the case of a direct meeting between the President and the Prime Minister, the initiative must come from the party that wants the meeting.
“For at least a dozen or so days, the Prime Minister has been saying that he is calling, allegedly sending text messages, trying to contact the President. He says this everywhere and to everyone except the one person: President Nawrocki. That is probably not serious, is it? Let’s look at this objectively, whether this is serious conduct on the part of the Prime Minister,”
Bogucki pointed out.
