“Today, from the Sokół Hall, after President Andrzej Duda, after President Karol Nawrocki, and during the presidency of Karol Nawrocki, we are boarding this perfectly oiled, perfectly prepared Polish high-speed train so that all of us can win Poland and win for Poland,” said Przemysław Czarnek, the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister announced on Saturday. He described the current government as “an openly German option.”
At the beginning of his speech, Czarnek pointed out that his candidacy had been announced in a place that was far from accidental. He noted that it was here that it had been declared that Andrzej Duda would run for president in 2014.
“We were then in a situation more or less like the one we are in today. Poland was being suffocated by the rule of Civic Platform (PO). There was no money for anything in Poland. There was no pro-family policy. No investments. The only investments local officials made were filling potholes in the roads with slag, because there was no money for anything else. Meanwhile, Civic Platform kept rising. Someone was pumping it up – it was growing, it had over 40 percent in the polls, while Law and Justice (PiS) was being pushed down in the surveys.”
“And this is where courage was born. Courage that led to victory in the presidential election, and then to victory – and an independent one, for the first time in the history of the Third Polish Republic – by whom? By us, Law and Justice (PiS)“, he said.
He noted that something similar had happened a little over a year ago, in November 2024.
“Once again the situation seemed, one might say, hopeless. Donald Tusk is in power, people are governing who violate the constitution, violate the rule of law, and introduce disorder and chaos in Poland. We seemed lost, once again we were being pushed down, they speculated about who would be the presidential candidate – and once again we came here, to Sokół Hall. And once again the party leader Jarosław Kaczyński announced from this place: the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate in the presidential election will be the civic candidate Dr. Karol Nawrocki. And what happened?” he said.
“Dr. Karol Nawrocki is today an outstanding President of the Republic of Poland who, together with Zbigniew Bogucki, the head of the Chancellery present here, is confronting what party leader Jarosław Kaczyński once described – and was fiercely attacked for it – as a ‘camouflaged German option’. Do you remember? Do you remember those attacks? That he was dividing people, that he was speaking untruths. Well, today there is no longer a camouflaged German option – it has shamelessly turned into an openly German option that is now governing […] He [Nawrocki] is saving Poland today”, he said.
