Thousands protest in Warsaw as Bąkiewicz declares: “We will not be slaves”

“By God, in the vision that is being prepared for us, there will no longer be any farmers […] there will be no Polish countryside, no Polish mines, no Polish coal-based energy sector. None of it. We are supposed to take from others, buy from others, work for others, and be slaves. But we do not want to be slaves; we want to be victors. And that is why we will prevail,” said Robert Bąkiewicz, founder of the Border Defense Movement (ROG), during a demonstration organized by Solidarity against the policies of Donald Tusk’s government.

A large demonstration against the policies of Donald Tusk’s government took place in Warsaw on Wednesday, gathering many thousands of participants. The initial purpose of the protest was to appeal to senators not to block President Karol Nawrocki’s proposal for a referendum on EU climate policy. However, many different issues were raised during the speeches.

One of the speakers was Robert Bąkiewicz, head of the Border Defense Movement.

“The world we have lived in until now no longer exists. The world in which we had our own dreams, opportunities, and the ability to achieve our goals no longer exists,”

he said.

“They are sitting in parliament right now, laughing at us […] Mercosur means the destruction of Polish agriculture, there will be no farmers left. The destruction of Polish mining, the destruction of Polish energy, the destruction of our energy sector, enormous burdens imposed on Polish transport, the destruction of pro-development investments, destroying our growth opportunities, for example, through the construction of ports, destroying people’s lives, a gigantic budget deficit… And what about schools? In schools, your children are being raised by perverts, and all of you remain silent. You remain silent while they take away your bread and your future opportunities,”

he said.

According to him, “we are a great and magnificent nation that has the potential to become a power in this part of Europe.”

“To become a subject of politics, not its object. We have the chance to shape international politics, but the nation must believe in itself. The nation must know that it is heading toward victory. It must throw off the chains they were just trying to put on us,”

he said.

“I bet those senators are laughing at us right now,” he added.

He thanked the event organizers but added that “their message must be carried further.”

“We cannot stop, because these mental Volksdeutsche, who are handing over our homeland, who are fighting against God and the cross… How did they begin their rule? The very first thing they did was remove crosses from their offices. And you did nothing, silence. In schools, teachers are removing them; these leftists are throwing them into trash bins and silence. What kind of Catholic country are you? If you have dignity, then fight!”

he appealed to the crowd.

“‘Peaceful’ solutions are over. They do not understand ‘peaceful’ methods, because they serve foreign masters. Those sitting in Berlin and Brussels. Those who believe that we are supposed to work their fields for them. But I believe we are capable of much more. They want to live at our expense, while I believe we have a tremendous opportunity… In fact, the president is already pursuing it. The Three Seas Initiative, the building of a great power here in Central and Eastern Europe. But you cannot abandon this cause, including this referendum, right now, and allow them to laugh at you. Stay here and keep watch over these fraudsters, thieves, and traitors so they can never again laugh in our faces!”

he said.

He also called on people to support the activities of Solidarity, the Border Defense Movement, and the Gazeta Polska Clubs.

“Without you, without society, without a mobilized nation, it is impossible to win this war, because this is a real war,”

he said.
