Today’s Duda-Hołownia Meeting. “This conversation is very much needed,” said the President

Today, President Andrzej Duda is set to meet with Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia. The two politicians will discuss, among other matters, the upcoming swearing-in of President-elect Karol Nawrocki, as well as legislation currently under consideration in the Sejm.

Duda-Hołownia Meeting

President Andrzej Duda announced the meeting with Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia several days ago. He explained that it had been arranged even before Hołownia’s now-famous statement about a “coup d’état.”

“However, after the Speaker’s statement, which caused such an uproar, I reached out to him again, confirming that this conversation is indeed very much needed in the current situation,” the President added.

Małgorzata Paprocka, Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, was asked today about the topics of the politicians’ discussion. She indicated that the outgoing President would speak with the Speaker “not only about what will happen in the coming days.”

“The discussion will also include the Sejm’s legislative work on bills currently before Parliament: the issue of personal assistance, the amendment of CUS (centers for social services), and the bill concerning the structure of the army’s command system,” she explained.
