Tomczyk Accuses Błaszczak of Spreading Disinformation – and Gets a Strong Response

Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk accused Law and Justice (PiS) MP Mariusz Błaszczak of misleading the public. The dispute concerned a new scandal over the lack of funds for purchasing equipment for the Polish Army. “Instead of writing about disinformation, please look at the correspondence between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Defense. It’s shocking – you’re out of money and have to beg the finance minister to unblock the funds,” Błaszczak replied to Tomczyk.

New scandal in the Ministry of National Defense

Mariusz Błaszczak, an MP from Law and Justice (PiS), posted on X about a scandal concerning the purchase of equipment for the Polish Army – this time, the lack of funding for rockets for the Chunmoo launchers.

“The ministry is unable to procure missiles for the Chunmoo launchers. The finance minister is blocking the order, expecting the debt of the Armed Forces Support Fund to be repaid directly from the defense budget, but the Ministry of National Defense has no money for that. I’ve obtained correspondence that confirms it!” the politician wrote.

Tomczyk accused Błaszczak of ‘disinformation’

Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk, a politician from Tusk’s party, responded to Błaszczak’s post, accusing him of misleading the public. “As usual, disinformation. But since you brought up the topic… Did you buy launchers without missiles – just like the FA50s without weapons? Please speak openly about your negligence,” Tomczyk wrote.

Błaszczak quickly fired back: “Instead of writing about disinformation, please look at the correspondence between the MF and the MON. It’s shocking – you’re out of money and have to beg the finance minister to unblock the funds. If I hadn’t publicized these issues, the contracts simply wouldn’t exist. By the way, if you had any real interest in what’s happening in the Polish Army, you’d know what the provisions of the first Chunmoo launcher contract looked like,” he said, addressing Tomczyk.

The Law and Justice (PiS) MP added that it was strange Tomczyk “doesn’t know about this, since the continuation of the framework agreement for this contract was implemented during your government.”

“The system was acquired with missiles, but the majority of them were to be produced in Poland. The key is to secure production capabilities – which you are now squandering,” he concluded.
