One Border Guard officer has died, and two of his colleagues have been hospitalized. The prosecutor’s office in Szczecin reported that the incident occurred overnight from Monday to Tuesday in one of the dormitories. The officers were off duty.
The tragic incident took place in Szczecin in one of the dormitories. The deceased Border Guard officer was 19 years old. The men had been drinking alcohol in the dormitory. In the morning, the body of the 19-year-old was found in bed. The two other individuals were taken to hospital. An investigation has been launched, said Julia Szozda, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin.
Investigation launched
The investigation has been initiated by the Szczecin-Zachód District Prosecutor’s Office under Article 155 of the Penal Code, which concerns involuntary manslaughter. The alcohol consumed by the men came from a legal source.
The prosecutor conducted an inspection at the place where the body was found. Police also carried out investigative activities. The involvement of third parties has been preliminarily ruled out. An autopsy will also be conducted tomorrow, Szozda added.
Two officers were admitted to the PUM clinic on Broniewskiego Street.
