Car hits moose, plunges into swamp in Sokoligóra, leaving one dead. Rescue teams search for possible additional victims.
A tragic accident occurred Thursday afternoon in Sokoligóra, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. A passenger car collided with a moose on provincial road 534, leading to a fatal outcome. The driver, after hitting the animal, lost control and veered into a swamp several hundred meters away.
Rescue Efforts Underway
The car was completely submerged, making the rescue operation difficult. Firefighters managed to retrieve the driver from the vehicle, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead on the scene by medical professionals. Authorities are still investigating how many people were in the car at the time of the accident.
Specialized Teams Deployed
A sonar-equipped unit and a specialist water rescue team from Włocławek have been called in to search the swamp for any additional victims. Their search is ongoing as authorities try to gather more information about the accident and any possible passengers.
