Criticism continues to mount from the December 13 coalition and its supportive media against President Andrzej Duda for referring the so-called “hate speech” bill to the Constitutional Tribunal. PiS MP Patryk Jaki is warning about what life in Poland could look like if Rafał Trzaskowski, who would undoubtedly sign such a bill, were to win.
Haters will decide what counts as hate
MP Patryk Jaki argued on X that a potential victory for Rafał Trzaskowski would mark the end of free speech in Poland.
“There’s really just one thing every Pole should understand. If Trzaskowski becomes president, he will sign the ‘hate speech’ bill. So, say goodbye to freedom of speech. In other ‘progressive’ countries, we’ve already seen that ‘hate’ includes criticism of gender theories with 256 identities, climate activism, abortion, or migration policies.
Poland will either be free, or it won’t exist at all. The entire Civic Platform, PSL, and the Left voted to give me up to three years in prison for criticizing migration policy. According to their justification, that was pure ‘hate,’” said Patryk Jaki.
